Biography: Michael Farias

Michael Farias is the founder and CEO of Fast Aid Success Systems and the Plumbing Doctor. Mike began his career in the plumbing industry in 1970 as a plumber’s helper. By the young age of 24 he earned his plumbing contractor’s license and went into business for himself. He owned several businesses over the course of his early years including Pasco Plumbing and Foothill Solahart in the Los Angeles area and Plumbing Doctor of Grass Valley, California, all of which he sold.

For nearly a decade Mike was completely out of the plumbing business when he pursued a calling into the ministry. Attending Bible school and becoming a credentialed minister, he became the pastor of a church and president of a non-profit religious corporation. Later he accepted a position for Church Care Network as their Director for Northern California and Nevada.

In 1992 Mike decided it was time to get back into the plumbing business. Inspired by his earlier experiences where he observed the difficulties and struggles of fellow plumbing contractors, he now wanted to do more than just work a job and be the butt of plumber jokes; he wanted to build a new business he could be proud of and eventually share with others. He bought a used ambulance and began with a truck and a vision to build a business unlike any other, and the Plumbing Doctor was born. Mike grew Plumbing Doctor from a one man, one truck operation to 16 trucks and 20 employees.

Plumbing Doctor was honored by the Sacramento Business Journal as one of the Top 100 fastest growing companies in 2005 and 2006. Additionally, when Mike expanded Plumbing Doctor into Solano County, his company was chosen as one of the Top 50 fastest growing companies in the East Bay Area. Today he and his two sons, Justin and Taylor (both plumbing contractors), run the award winning Plumbing M.D. Inc.

Mike is a published author, motivational speaker, avid golfer, former baseball player and devoted husband of 37 years.
