New Solar Water Heater Rebate Announced California just announced a new solar rebate, making solar water heaters more affordable than ever. There are now two incentives available to home owners that combine for almost $4000 in savings. 
Since 2008 there has been a national tax credit available for 30% off the total cost of a unit and installation. And starting in 2010 the State of California is offering a rebate program for solar water heaters called the California Solar Initiative. The program entitles residential customers to up to $1800 in rebates. In addition to the thousands you'll save in rebates, you'll also lower your gas or electric bill by up to 80%. Helping Habitat for Humanity Most of us wouldn't be too thrilled if our boss asked us to come into work on a Saturday. But last May, several employees of Plumbing Doctor gladly  showed up to run the waste lines for two Habitat for Humanity homes being built in Woodland. This is the second project we've done with Habitat for Humity. These projects are a great way for our employees to use their specialized skills to make a difference in the community. The homes are being built for two local families. The families are required to put in at least 500 hours of work and will purchase the properties for a greatly reduced price with a no interest loan provided by Habitat for Humanity.
